With 120 players in the league this season, Zanibar FC has introduces a disciplinary committee to oversee any unruly incidents.

Zanzibar FC has introduced a new 3-panel disciplinary committee to review player conduct at the Toronto City Sports Centre throughout the season.

The 3-panel board consists of Hisham Ali, Hassan Syed and Muhammad Kara.

The committee will rule on all disciplinary related issues and may increase player suspensions depending on the situation. The committee will rule on:

  • Players causing or initiate a fight
  • Players threatening a player, a spectator or a match official
  • Use of abusive language towards match officials, players or directing it towards spectators that could result in causing a disturbance
  • A situation that may result in other players getting involved in a mêlée that tarnishes the image of Zanzibar Football Club and the facility that is used to host the games

The disciplinary rules for this season are as follows:

  • Accumulation of 3 yellow cards = 1 match suspension
  • Accumulation of 6 yellow cards = 1 match suspension + disciplinary committee review
  • Sending off (2 yellow cards in one game or 1 red card) = 1 match suspension
    • Sent off for swearing at the ref = Additional 1 match suspension + disciplinary committee review
    • Sent off for violent conduct = Additional 1 match suspension + disciplinary committee review
