Mazahir Ismail has fined one of his Taifa Stars players $50 for missing a penalty.
But the flamboyant boss is now facing a dressing-room backlash.
Several senior stars are furious after Ismail rapped rookie Hisham Ali.
The young midfielder was penalised for taking a spot-kick in Taifa Stars’ defeat to Gymkhana — because Tahir Jaffer was the designated taker.
Ismail has upset his squad by implementing a tough new disciplinary regime with wide-ranging financial punishments for lateness and back-chat.
A Taifa Stars insider said: “Ali wouldn’t have been fined if he’d scored it. Some of the new rules are strange to say the least.
“He is a young kid. He was only trying to do his best for the team and he’s ended up being fined 50 bucks for it.”
Ali’s penalty was wide of the mark and Gymkhana won the game 2-1.
Ismail played down reports of a bust-up with defender Ahmed Sagarwala last week.
